Recommended tire pressure levels are calculated based on vehicle weight and load capacity. To find proper psi for a new tire size, take your original tire size, load index, its recommended psi and corresponding weight, and find same weight for new tire size - that will show you the recommended psi. Use the charts in top menu. Inflation indicated on the tire sidewall is its maximum psi it can be inflated to carry its maximum load, and not a recommended tire pressure.
